A mission of Orange United Methodist Church
. . . and now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor 13:13
Welcome to the new Orange Youth Web Site! We are very exciting to have it up and running! This will be a place where you can always find out what is going on at Orange UMC.
Orange Youth group meets every Sunday from 5-7pm. Anyone who is in 6th grade or higher is welcome to attend. We always provide a meal, so bring your appetite. Directions to Orange can be found here. A list of of all upcoming events that youth have planed can be found here.

We had a blast at AtlantaFest! We enjoyed great food (thanks to Roger), great music, and were inspired by a great speaker. The bands we saw included Jeremy Camp, Big Daddy Weave, and Casting Crowns. We also climbed like monkeys on Sky Hike, pegged each other with foam balls in The Great Barn, took a ride high in the air in the Sky Bucket, and hiked to the top of Stone Mountain for a great view. We capped our weekend off with a candlelight service. Pictures are up! Go here!

The food rotation is now available online. Check it out by clicking here. Or you may find it under "Resources".
Also, our new time for dinner during Sunday night youth is 6:30pm. Contact Graham if this is a problem for anyone.
Congradulations to all of our high school and college graduates! These graduates were recognized in the 11am woship service on Sunday, May 18. They included 3 graduates of Cherokee High School and 1 college graduate from Southern Poly State University. Pray for them as they embark on a new world and new opportunities to let their light shine for Jesus.
An unprecedented move is being made by the leaders of Orange Youth. Parents are actually being invited to attend our youth meeting on Sunday, May 4. For the first hour of our Sunday night gathering, youth and parents alike will eat together. Likewise, everyone will be invited to participate in signing the Freedom Wall (this is part of our Mission of the Month, which is all about raising awareness of slavery in the world today). The second hour, the youth will have normal programs while the parents will have the pleasure of spending time with Graham! I know the parents are excited.
On April 19 we took a group of 31 youth and adults to Cumberland Caverns in Tennessee. We arrived Saturday night and were then taken on two great tours. On the first, called the Wild Tour, we got on our hands and knees and crawled through tiny crevaces on the spelunking route. We then took the commercial tour which included the larger parts of the cave and a Christian based light show. We had a blast! On Sunday morning we had our own church service that was exactly as it would have been if we had been at Orange (maybe not exactly). We were taught a great song by our wonderful music leader. Thanks to everyone who went on this trip, you guys were awesome! See the pictures here!
